Conquering Curves
The Flowering Snowball block is great one for learning basic curved piecing. The images below show the same block, and how reversing the color elements of the block can make it look totally different. You can choose to do either in this class as both allow you to raid your stash and learn curved piecing. Take a look on Pinterest for the many ways this block can be used to make a quilt, wall hanging or table runner.

Supply List:
BERNINA MACHINES provided or you may bring your own
- Fabric Scraps - fat 1/8th's (9" x 22" work well), you will need prints and background pieces (If you are using a consistent background you will need 3 yards for a throw size quilt.
- Neutral thread to blend with your fabrics
- Best Press or light starch spray ( pre-starch your fabrics in preparation for class)
- 28mm rotary cutter
- ironing mat / travel iron – wool mats work great ( we do have 2 ironing stations in the classroom)
- 8 inch or larger square ruler
- Stiletto (can also use the tip of your seam ripper or a cuticle stick)
- General sewing supplies (pins, scissors, seam ripper, pencil, etc...)
Class Instruction from 930am -1230pm
Optional: Break for lunch (feel free to bring your lunch or go out) and continue sewing until 3:30pm for support while you learn this technique.
